I started taking these photos at the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown: I had recently graduated from Photography School and couldn't continue with neither my street nor with my portrait work because of the restrictions that we all had at the time. I would take photos of some interesting details of a car on my daily walks, mostly out of boredom.

Slowly some patterns started to emerge and I became especially interested in the images that would reveal something about the personality of the owner of the car. 

Cars are the most expensive and complex mass produced goods. As the assembly line was invented by Ford, they also embody the quintessence of mass production. At the same time they serve us as a second home, we feel in a private space when sitting in a car, therefore many of us feel the need to personalise them in some way. Even the people who are able to escape this need often leave some random objects behind the windshield or on the seats that are able to tell a small story - true or imagined - about them.
