One day the light of the sun will stop shining on us.
We seem to have no better choice than to ignore this fundamental reality of life. Many of us strive for order, success, power, beauty, instead of enjoying the limited time we have on Earth. We create pretty versions of ourselves, both physically and psychologically, in order to feel accepted by our peers: we buy the right objects and adopt the correct behaviors, but the person who is accepted is not our real self. By surrounding ourselves with objects, we are creating a dystopic world. We may achieve success, but we still feel lonely.
Some of the people represented in these pictures are playing their own act, some other impersonating the life of someone else or a character from a book. They are hit by the last rays of light hitting them before the night, when our thoughts become denser and for a moment we can have the illusion of grasping the truth about ourselves.
